![]() :)Īlso, as always, if you develop an application that has Growl support and want access to early/pre-release versions of the SDK and Growl, please contact me as well.Īnyhow, on to the features. I want to talk about 2 today, and I’ll post more about 2.1 the closer we get to a release. Keep in mind that 2.1 is in alpha, meaning that we’ll have a round of alpha testing followed by a round of beta testing, so we’re still a bit out from a final release. The first feature I want to talk about is close buttons on Growl notifications for webkit displays. Yes webkit authors, the one feature you’ve been requesting more than anything else is what we’ve added to Growl 2.1. The basic gist is that you’ll be able to do something like set an X and a Y, set multiple different image representations for different states, etc. The ist in the display style is where you will be setting these different things. We feel this gives you enough power in your design without making it difficult to understand what is going on. There are a lot of other changes to webkit styles to give you a lot more capabilities, but I wanted to highlight this great new addition. The second thing I want to talk about are Rules (10.8 only). Specifically this allows you to have an AppleScript in a specific directory on the file system, and then you can do neat things like:Īpple just approved HardwareGrowler 2.0. One of the better changes not mentioned in the version history on the app store is the large memory problems that some people were seeing is now resolved. HardwareGrowler on my test systems is sitting at a much more reasonable number than the previous versions.
